Born and bred in the southern comforts of Houston, Texas, the crew known as The Legendary K.O. speaks in the universal language of music and translates their message to all corners of the world. They have become the picture of self-determination and the entrepreneurial spirit by taking their common love of hip hop and transforming it into a musical force that permeates the hearts and souls of music lovers across the globe.

K.O. was formed in 1992 when high school classmates Mic and Damien realized their common musical interests. They spent the next several years honing their craft in anticipation of sharing the fruits of their labor with the rest of the world.

The “K.O. sound” is probably best described as a crossroads between the commercial viability of today’s mainstream artists and the profound musicality of yesteryear’s greats. Their influences, encompassing all times and genres of music, are noticeably apparent in their music. Becoming increasingly non-conformist over the years, The Legendary K.O. is cutting deeper and deeper against the grain to deliver a message that needs to be heard, rather than repeating what has already been said. Their most popular single to date, “World Renown”, echoes these very sentiments through out the song, punctuating each undesirable aspect of music with “we don’t do that shit, can’t do that shit, never do that shit…” In fact, many of the listeners in their global audience have proclaimed K.O. as a group that people will have to listen to in years to come. They present their real-life personas unabashedly and unapologetically. K.O. see themselves as extensions of their audience, the mouthpiece for those without a voice, and the future of music.

Since 1992, The Legendary K.O. has had little time for rest, since their full-time schedules and pastime passions often coincide. The group has a rather extensive resume of performances, including several trips to the South By Southwest music conference in Austin, TX and a number of performances across the U.S. In 2001, K.O. went on tour in Japan with DJ Cash Money to promote their Universal LP, and have since toured Europe twice. They have shared the stage with such acclaimed artists as: KRS-ONE, Talib Kweli, Blackalicious, Outkast, The Roots, Common, Busta Rhymes, De La Soul, Ras Kass, Hieroglyphics, Black Eyed Peas, Erykah Badu, and many others. .They completed a tour of Japan with DJ Cash Money in April 2001, and toured much of Europe from 2002 – 2005. In 2005, they recorded the internet-only track, “George Bush Doesn’t Care About Black People” in response to the fallout of Hurricane Katrina. To date, the song garnered over 2.5 million downloads worldwide. The Legendary K.O. is currently prepping their new release, “The Ballad Of Willie Turner”.
